The Gran Turismo franchise has partnered with many carmakers over the years and it has often resulted in the creation of some awesome concepts that earn the suffix – Vision Gran Turismo. Lamborghini has joined that esteemed list with its own epic VGT concept – the Lamborghini Lambo V12.

For even the most casual gamer, the first reaction is that the Lambo V12 VGT looks inspired by Master Chief from the Halo series. The colour, the windscreen design along with the sharp and pointy design can be credited for the Halo vibes. I’ve played Gran Turismo Sport for some time now and from all the VGT cars in the game, the Lambo V12 is probably the most aggressive looking one. Exactly what I expect from the stable of the Italian bull.

While the Lambo V12 VGT will only ever be raced in its digital form, it does get the powertrain of the recently revealed Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. As its name suggests, it uses a V12 but with an electric motor for a hybrid system. The engine is the most powerful Lambo V12 yet producing 785bhp but with the added 34bhp from the electric motor, the output jumps up to 819bhp. There are two cool things about the 48-volt e-motor being used by Lamborghini in this powertrain. First, it is incorporated into the gearbox for immediate response and performance gains. The other and definitely cooler point is that it uses supercapacitors instead of the lithium-ion battery for energy accumulation.

Its extreme aero design takes inspiration from other Lambos such as the Veneno, the Aventador SVJ and even the Egoista. But it takes everything to another level. The main body is totally disconnected from all the point fenders, like a sci-fi fighter jet. The Lambo V12 VGT single-seater concept design is a product of the Lamborghini Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese. It was unveiled in the flesh at the World Finals of the 2019 FIA Certified Gran Turismo Championships held in Monaco.

The Lambo V12 VGT is expected to be added to Gran Turismo Sport in Spring 2020. While most VGT concepts are priced at a million in-game credits, this one might be pricier. Looking forward to driving it in the game and bring you a review video on the Auto Loons YouTube channel.

What do you think of the Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo? Do you think its more poster-worthy than the Terzo Millenio concept? Share your thoughts in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe to The Auto Loons for more cool updates from the car world.
