The first customer McLaren Senna has left the factory with chassis number 001 and it’s already quite clear that this will be no garage queen. McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt presented the car to the lucky owner David Kyte in a ceremony at the McLaren Technology Centre.
Understandably chuffed, David has set off on a 1,400km road trip with his brand new Senna that features a lot of bespoke options on it. Finished in MSO Anniversary White with the livery painted in MSO Aurora Blue, this Senna also features the roof ‘snorkel’, with satin visual carbon fibre fuel filler cap, brake callipers painted in MSO Bespoke Burton Blue and MSO bespoke coloured centre lock wheel nuts in Volcano Red. There are a lot of Ayrton Senna elements as well apart from the Senna name on the endplates. Ayrton’s F1 championship winning years are engraved on the throttle pedal and the layout of the Interlagos Circuit in Sao Paulo, Brazil is on the front of the car. The interior is made to spec too by MSO and has a blend of carbon fibre and Harissa Red not to mention the red-tinted carbon fibre control surrounds as well.
The trip takes the Senna 001 from Woking to the South of France where David will stop at the Paul Ricard circuit for a day of learning with McLaren Experience. It wasn’t alone however as it was escorted by a convoy of epic McLaren cars – 3 other Sennas, a 720S and a 600LT. They also had Bruno Senna with them. How epic is that?!
