Force India comes into the 2018 season with an evolution of the pink livery that was a very late change for the team when they brought on board their lead Austrian sponsor – Best Water Technology (BWT). The new car incorporates dashes of white and silver in the livery, while the body and aerodynamics have been further refined according to the new season’s regulations, especially the very pink halo around the cockpit.
The VJM11 still uses a Mercedes power unit which has allowed its talented duo behind the wheel to help defend the team’s fourth place in the World Constructors’ Championship. Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon offered some of the most exciting race moments last season and eventually got team orders to behave themselves, but we’ll have to see how the duo fare on the track with Ocon having even more experience under his belt.
More importantly, Force India will have a proper battle on their hands in 2018 in their attempt to better or even retain their fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship with the likely revival of Renault, McLaren and Williams Racing in the middle order. With testing still underway in Spain, it’s still anybody’s call if Force India can again upset the bigger names in that table and outdo them all.
