With the new season barely a month away and testing already underway at Barcelona, the teams have begun the reveals for their car designs and liveries. The first to break cover, on 14th Feb, was the American F1 Team – Haas.

They have included a lot more of a lighter shade of grey, or even white (not sure in the lighting on these photos) while the halo is jet black. The familiar black and red colours remain on enough surfaces to make it a distinguishable car nonetheless. Here’s a better look at the VF-18 in a few more angles:

We also have some of the technical specifications available for the Haas VF-18 which does use a Ferrari unit, the Ferrari 062 to be specific. The dampers are from ZF Sachs, the clutch is by AP Racing while the wheels/rims are from OZ Racing. The transmission is the ‘Ferrari servo-controlled hydraulic limited-slip differential with semi-automatic sequential and electronically-controlled gearbox, quick shift (eight gears, plus reverse)’.

Haas has retained both its drivers for the 2018 season and is likely expecting both Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean to deliver consistent finishes in the points this year. The team aims to bring the VF-18 within half a second of the pace of their engine supplier’s team.
