Now, our regular readers would know that we at Auto Loons do have a soft spot for fast four-door cars, and naturally we would be excited by the all new C43 AMG, which is basically the smaller brother of the excitingly-aggressive C 63 S.

The C 63 S has a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 that packs 504bhp and 700Nm. But the C43 gets a 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 which puts out 363bhp of power and 520Nm of torque, which is still plenty of grunt, given the kind of situations you’ll face while driving around in India. But is it any less fun than the C 63 S? Not according to those who tested it. In fact, the reviews would suggest that the less power and the Mercedes-AMG AWD system actually make it more fun to drive, because you’re less likely to get into a tailspin and make a fool of yourself.

It may not be a monster, but it’s still an AMG. It has the right kind of suspension, the right kind of transmission(9-Speed automatic), the right kind of driving ergonomics to make it still an exciting car to drive while still being relatively luxurious. And it can still do 0-100kph in under 5 seconds.

With a launch price of INR 74.35 lakhs, the C 43 is cheaper than the C 63 S by almost 60 lakhs. So, this little Merc-AMG does entice with the price-drop and what all you get for your pile of cash, and we do hope to see mildy-successful businessmen flooring this car when they go for weekend drives.
