Hyundai already showed us what kinda cool stuff we can expect with the new regulations for the next season of the World Rally Championship. Now, M-Sport has revealed their new Ford, and we really like the look of it.

The M-Sport managing director, Malcolm Wilson was quoted saying “I can honestly say that it is one of the most amazing we have ever produced” in the announcement on M-Sport’s official website. He also mentioned that more than 95 per cent of the car has been designed from scratch with a clear objective of getting back to the top spot of the podium.

The body is based on the new road-going Fiesta, adding front and rear splitters, dive planes and a very noticeable rear wing, clearly making most of the new aerodynamic regulations. It also packs more punch that the outgoing Fiesta RS, with a power output of 380bhp and 450Nm of torque, thanks to an Ecoboost powered 1.6-litre engine with direct injection. Mated to that powerhouse, is a new si-speed sequential transmission with hydraulic shift, a multi-disc clutch and an active centre differential. I don’t yet know what it means but it sounds like good news.

M-Sport’s all new WRC Fiesta has already done well over 6000kms of testing, with more to come and the team’s head of engineering, Chris Williams, feels confident that this is definitely a winning car, stating “We’ve pushed the physical boundaries in all areas”.

We’ve got a clip of it being tested in Monte Carlo earlier this year, and we like what we see, and we love what we hear. Check it out:
