The good folks at Mercedes-Benz India launched today the C-Class  and S-Class cabriolets adding them to their product portfolio here, as part of the new cars that were promised to be launched in 2016.

The C300 convertible gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-pot engine  which packs 224Ps of power and 370Nm of torque. This RWD convertible gets a 9G-TRONIC gearbox, and the soft top can be folded away in under 20 seconds while driving at a max speed of 50kph. Launched with a price tag of INR 60 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi) makes it one of the cheapest Merc convertibles available.

The S500 cabriolet comes with a lot more power, getting a 4.7-litre V8 naturally aspirated engine that generates 455ps of power and 700Nm of torque and its RWD is also paired with a 9G-TRONIC auto box. It comes with a claimed 0-100kph time of 4.6 seconds, so this is no luxurious slouch, and comes with adjustable dampeners. This one comes with a price tag of INR 2.25 Cr (ex-showroom Delhi).

Both cars get a wide array of multimedia, utility, safety and comfort technologies with a high degree of personalization on the aesthetics available to the buyers, adding to the luxury experience.

At the launch event, Mr. Roland Folger, MD & CEO Mercedes-Benz India, spoke extensively about the company’s drive to provide their customers with the best in modern luxury, referring to their new premium outlets in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.
