This weekend, Bengaluru played host to The Hindu Auto Expo 2016, at the White Orchid Convention Centre near Manyata Embassy Business Park. The two-day expo showcased plenty of cars and bikes from different manufacturers over a variety of segments.

There were stalls for the usual consumer cars by Hyundai, Honda, Renault, Skoda, Tata Motors and Volkswagen for the “I’m looking to buy a car” crowd. But more to my interest, there was a line-up of luxurious and sporty cars as well. None of the makes or models were new or very interesting, but it was still nice to see those exotic cars up close.

Sadly, the organisers did a poor job of setting up the display stands for these stunning cars. They had them all lined up against a wall, with only the front and the side on display for all the attendees who had to stand behind the flimsy barrier. I can understand the need to keep most of the general audience away from these cars, but to display them in such a way that one cannot even get a full 360-degree view of the exterior nor a glimpse to the cockpit inside, that was simply not well thought out.

There were a lot of impressive bikes on display by the ‘Moto Dreams’ section, all of them built for thrills, and none with an engine smaller than 600cc. It covered just about every brand from Honda to Yamaha. Aprilia had a stall for their new SR150 scooter and there were stalls by Hysoung, Indian and Harley as well. But those bikes don’t interest me so I didn’t spend much time around that area.

There was also a small section called Glorious Heritage that showcased some vintage classics from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Here are most of the pics I took at the Expo :
